I have a thought....maybe there should be some kind of qualification process to be an MP...... it is not a complete accident that all but a couple of our pm's have been to oxford or cambridge. While they may have had varying degrees of success in the position, one does not end up in that position by accident (JM excepted!). Now while it is true that such archaic and elitist barriers cannot and must not be used in the 21st century, we must find some way of guaranteeing that those whom we present wtih public office are 'fit for purpose' (where is he????).
